London, Feb 10 (ANI):
Shilpa Shetty has joined the anti-bullying charity that dumped Jade
Goody from its ranks after the racism row on reality TV series Big Brother.
Shipa, who emerged the
winner on the show, has pledged her support to the charity Act Against
Bullying.
Founder and spokeswoman
Louise Burfitt-Dons insisted that the Bollywood star's compose and poise
during the show made her the perfect celebrity supporter.
"The way she handled
the bullying on television makes her the perfect role model. She came
out on top after behaving with dignity and poise, and her ordeal highlights
the need to ensure children are taught manners and the importance of
not offending people," the Mirror quoted her, as saying.
Burfitt-Dons added that
the charity had been forced to sever links with Jade, who led the racist
against the actress during the show.
However, she insisted
that Goody has a "kind side", and hoped that the negative
reaction she was getting from people would not lead her to do anything
drastic.
"Jade has a kind
side, and I'd hate to see her driven to suicide because of all this,"
she said.#
